Each patient is an individual. After hearing your needs, our Registered Massage Therapist will use technique(s) from the following to address your specific needs:

Swedish Massage. This is a general term that incorporates many soft tissue massage techniques and remedial exercises. Muscle tension and trigger points are treated using a variety of strokes and manual techniques like kneading, tapotement, effleurage and deep tissue stripping. Most of the Swedish Massage techniques are performed with oil and can greatly improve circulation and cardiovascular function.

Myofascial Release. A safe and very effective, hands-on technique that involves applying gentle, sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Myofascial networks can be balanced to facilitate optimal Posture. Each Myofascial Release Treatment session is performed directly on skin without oils, creams or machinery. This enables the therapist to accurately detect fascial restrictions and apply the appropriate amount of sustained pressure to facilitate the release of the fascia. The use of Myofascial Release allows us to look at each patient as a unique individual.

Zen Shiatsu and Meridian Therapy. Prevent illness by activating and stimulating your innate self-healing powers of resisting sickness. Zen Shiatsu is a form of medical massage therapy originating in Japan. It is meridian based, meaning it looks at how your energy lines interact and is treated using shiatsu techniques. The techniques work on Tsubo (trigger points) on different body parts. It also emphasizes balance using myofascial stretches and joint mobilization. This is an excellent therapy for preventing illness by activating and stimulating your innate self-healing powers of resisting sickness.

Hi, I’m Krista.

I grew up in South Frontenac County and live with my two daughters in Sydenham.

I ran a successful wedding cake and cake business for two decades in downtown Kingston. I decided to return to school to pursue my interests in holistic health and human anatomy and physiology.

I graduated with Honours from Trillium College in Kingston .

My heritage is rooted in South Frontenac as my grandparents ran a lumber mill on the Mississippi River and lived in Snow Road. I’m passionate about working in the Sharbot Lake region and enjoy lake country and outdoor activities.

My treatments include:

Hot Stone Massage. A massage treatment using heated volcanic stones to massage muscle and connective tissue. The heat and firm pressure the stones provide are relaxing and are effective in treating trigger points and tension in the body. Temperature and pressure can be applied to the individual’s preference.

Deep tissue massage treatment. A combination of deep tissue to destress tight muscles and trigger points is used in combination with relaxing and soothing kneading and flushing of lymphatic drainage. Depth of pressure is altered for each treatment designed for each specific client and client symptoms.

TMJ - Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction Treatment. This is a disorder of the muscles of mastication of the jaw joints and associated jaw and neck muscles. Treatment can be intra- oral with the use of sterile gloves to aid the tension release of the internal muscles. External treatment of neck, head and shoulders are also provided to complement the overall treatment.

I am eager to offer these treatments to the Community.
